Ready in: 30 min

Ingredients

  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 egg [optional for egg wash]
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup red/green bell peppers, chopped [optional]
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1/4 cup pickles, diced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

1Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef. Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder, cooking until the meat is browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.

2Stir in the finely chopped onion and cook until softened, about 2-3 minutes. Remove the skillet from heat.

3Combine the cooked beef mixture with shredded cheddar cheese, mustard, ketchup, and diced pickles in a bowl. Mix thoroughly until everything is well blended.

4Take an egg roll wrapper and lay it flat on a clean surface. Spoon about a tablespoon of the filling onto the center of the wrapper.

5Fold the sides of the wrapper over the filling, then roll it up tightly, sealing the edge with water or a light coating of egg wash. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

6Heat vegetable oil in a large pot or deep fryer until it reaches 375°F (190°C).

7Fry the egg rolls in small batches, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and crispy, which should take about 2-3 minutes.

8Place the cooked egg rolls on paper towels to drain excess oil.

9Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy!
